Training and coaching

Who taught your leads how to lead?

Can you stop being the system before someone else can carry part of it? I doubt it. That takes leads who know what they own and how to decide, and an owner with somewhere to think out loud.

Questions I would ask

  • Did your leads get promoted because they were good at the work?
  • Do your meetings end without a decision?
  • Who do you think out loud with?

I have led teams for 18 years, and mentored junior leaders along the way. Is anyone born knowing how to hand off, or how to say who decides? I have not met them. It can be started in a day, and practised for years.

What you get

  • An in-house day for your leads: roles, handoffs, who decides, how to give a review.
  • Working sessions with you, by the hour, on whatever is stuck.
  • Coaching that follows from what the Read finds, never instead of it.

How it ends: Your leads carry what you used to carry alone.

It starts with the Read

Before anything is built, a written reading of how your company runs. Sometimes it points somewhere else, and it says so. If the report doesn't show you something you didn't already know, tell me and I refund it.
